To strengthen, and empower widows and widowers to live a joyful, healthier and productive life.
On May 30, 2002, Teresa Stewart Davis’ father Deacon Joe Stewart passed away, which proved to be a devastating loss for her mother and their entire family. As a daughter watching her mother go through the grieving process, she found herself ministering her mother through this major storm in her life. Ultimately, she moved from Florida to El Paso to help her mother through her grieving process. Shortly after the move, however, Teresa personally experienced a similar and traumatic loss of her husband Rev. Charles Bell in August of 2007, as he become terminally ill and passed away.
Ironically, the person she came home to strengthen was now, with God's help, strengthening her. As a result of these experiences and God’s calling, the idea of Mourning Glory Ministries was conceived and later came to fruition on February 21, 2009.
In response to God’s call, Minister Teresa Stewart Davis and Joyce Stewart have built a ministry and support group that caters to the special needs of widows, widowers, and others who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Specifically, this ministry focuses on a holistic approach of body, soul, and spirit done through the word of God, conferences, and various therapeutic activities. The ministry’s ultimate purpose is to foster change in our culture where widows, widowers, and other survivors are respected and valuable members of our society.
